Yet Another Zombie Survivors
Beginner Guide
Your first goal is simple: build a squad that can keep moving while clearing a path through the swarm. This guide gives you a repeatable framework for every early run.
Do not chase every upgrade. Pick a role for each survivor and build toward it.
The first objective
A first clear comes from stability, not a perfect damage chart. Keep moving, create room to breathe, and take upgrades that solve the enemies currently surrounding you.
Pick a leader with a job
Your leader is the starting point of the squad. Choose a weapon pattern you can position confidently, then recruit teammates that fill a missing role: crowd control, concentrated damage, or protection.
Recruit for coverage
A balanced group has answers for both a close swarm and a priority target. When choosing a recruit, ask what the squad cannot currently reach or kill fast enough.
Upgrade with a plan
Early upgrades should make the current run safer. Once the core team works, stack upgrades that reinforce its strengths instead of scattering points across unrelated effects.
Build rule: strengthen the squad’s best answer
When a weapon already clears waves reliably, use the rest of your choices to protect that advantage. Add single-target damage if bosses stall the run, or add space-making tools if you keep getting surrounded.
ASK BEFORE PICKING AN UPGRADE
- Does it fix the current danger?
- Does it support a survivor’s existing role?
- Does it help against both swarms and elites?
When you reach Boss Rush
Boss Rush rewards squads with reliable focused damage and enough recovery to survive repeated pressure. Treat it as a separate target from a casual run: keep at least one strong answer for elite enemies and avoid a build that only excels at clearing small targets.
